A candid shot of me working the Cypress College table. Cypress College's ATC department provided bolsa wood airplanes for all attendees to build and learn about the basic aerodynamics of aircraft.

In the month of October, different chapters of Women in Aviation International (WAI) host a Girls in Aviation (GIA) Day. Chapters around the world organize this amazing event that brings together thousands of young girls to introduce and educate them about the world of aviation.

In the spring of 2019, I had made connections during the WAI Conference in Long Beach that gave me the privilege of working with our local chapter to help organize their GIA Day. With connections to both Cypress College's ATC program and Girl Scouts of Orange County, I was able to help partner all three organizations. The event held at ACI Jet at John Wayne Airport was a huge success with about 200 girls in attendance. I was also in charge of hosting Cypress College's activity table which consisted of Girl Scout Brownie earning their Fling Flyer Badge. As a Cypress College outreach event, I was able to assist many high school seniors find a pathway to aviation through our school.
