While working the last day of the conference, I was able to help introduce the world of aviation to girls of all ages in their Girls in Aviation Day. My daughter was one of the girls attending and I was able to share my work with her.

During the Girls in Aviation Day at the conference, I assisted in helping set up activities for all girls attending. This activity was to "build an airport".

Women in Aviation International (WAI) is a the largest nonprofit organization in the world dedicated to increasing the number of women involved in aviation and aerospace. WAI began in 1990 and has more than 18,000 active members. Their goals are to invest in the current and future workforce, build a diverse & inclusive industry, and inspire women & girls to pursue careers in the industry.

The WAI Conference in Long Beach, 2019, was the first big event I organized. This event challenged my skills to see how quickly I could take on a big event in a short time. In two weeks, I made the connections with WAI staff, organized a booth for Cypress College, and brought 20 students to attend. Students were able to attend panels, explore careers, and interview for positions.

Since then, I been able to continue this partnership with WAI and our local chapter. In 2023, when the conference returned, I was able to take another group of students to participate in the conference. I was also able to have Cypress College participate in the Girls in Aviation day at the end.
